I bought one a week ago (the display was conveniently handy to the register!) I agree with you that it is probably the best of these gadget inventions yet! I find it the best solution for me. I've tried other cell phone holders that even though you can hang them on your purse or belt I can't get the phone 'out' in time to get the call! I love the hook on my dash and I don't mind the look at all as it works well. As far as the light, yes it hurts my arthritic thumbs but I discovered not to use the end of my thumb but rather lay the whole thumb on it sideways and no problem. Do we really need the light? No!

I just bought one yesterday. You are absolutely correct in your review (which I didn't read ahead of time).

The “light” is useless and it is certainly dorky, but it is exactly what I needed! I have the G-1 phone and it is big and heavy. The regular clip which came with the Body Glove I put on the phone kept the it from hanging right – it's top heavy. Also, it was unbelievably hard to get unhooked and I missed calls all the time. With the “Smart Clip” I can hang it on my belt loop or purse. Of course, I had to put it on upside down in order to be able to use my camera so mine comes off the bottom, not the top, but I can live with that.

I'm glad I got it and it works for me!

Thanks for the review. I was wondering about this item the other day. I carry a bucket type purse….everything falls to the bottom, so this is very appealing to me to clip on the side. It would be amazing to actually catch a call on my cell before it goes to voice mail!
